Lady‘s mantle elixir with horsetail, silverweed, red clover, hibiscus

Already in the 1st century the Greek physician Dioskurisdes knew two lady ́s mantle formula which were described in the translation of the „Materia Medica“. They referred to female genital Organs. Also Pastors Kneipp and Künzle highly praised the lady ́s mantle to help in case of female complaints, gential organ complaints, leukorrhea and menstruation.

Already in ancient times the field horsetail or common horsetail was appreciated as provider of silica. Dioskurides praised its styptic force. Common horsetail is used with its styptic effect for too strong menstruations. Common horsetail is also used for bacterial and inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract.

In herbal books of the end of middle age the silverweed is mentioned for the first time. It has an astringent effect, relieves cramps, antiinflammatory, wound-healing and styptic effect. It is above all used in the Treatment of carmps, abdominal and genital organ pain with cramps and Menstruation complaints.

Leonhard Fuchsius (1501-1566), who is a father of botanics, used red clover for woman ́s leukhorrea. This plant, rich in phytoestrogens, is used for menopause complaints, such as hot flushes, sweating, mood fluctuations and irritation.
Hibiscus promost the drainage, can have a light laxative effect and is consequently used for constipation. A weak blood circulation is strengthened.

The elixir reduces a strong menstruation, relieves menstruation cramps, improves a regular sequence of menstruation, and is also used for inflammations of uterus mucosa, anemy, melancholy and light depression.
