Wild garlic, Allium ursinum

For bears this plant is the preferred nutrition after hibernation. The German name (als botanic name) goes back to the bears. Wild garlic is an old medical plant and was already known by the Germanics and Celts. The Romans called wild garlic Herba salutaris, medicinal herb and appreciated it as remedy for cleaning the stomach and blood. In the Middle Age wild garlic was not appreciated, only later it was praised again, and herb priest Mr. Künzle discovered it as blood purification cabbage par excellence.
